Lost the final but won the Championship 2014!

DSC_0455

Leif had the better reaction and Johan shook the tires a few meters of the line. Johan tried to save it, pedaling twice. But Leif was long gone. Well we lost the final... But as it seems we already have won the championship! According to our calculations we have 319 points and Leif 188. In the final in England the maximum points in a 5-8 car field is 110. And the difference right now is 131.

It's always nice to be the one who passes by the cheering crowd.

No time for party. The car needs to be turned around for the final.

Same thing for Leif and his crew. Just silent work... Soon it's time for finals!

Results quarterfinals

Out in the first round we had Johnny Oksa and Ari Pietilä. Johnny won the tree, pedaled once and was able to take the win. Ari shook the tires from the start and never had a chance.

DSC_0150
Ari was so happy before the race that he was able to race at all after yesterdays massive engine damage in the last qualifying round.

Both the block and heads had to be welded.

Unfortunately the same thing happened again. But at least they tried. Good job Ari and team!

Next to eliminate was Leif and Danny. Leif's first to the 60 feet marker. Dannys tires shook, he pedaled, but the race was already lost to Leif by then. Leifs timing is perfect and he pulls of his best round of the weekend. 5.58!

Out last in this session was Johan. 0.97 to 60 feet and then he shook the tires. He tried to pedal but he never got it hooked up again. 8.22 and we lost the lane choice to Johnny Oksa.

In the next round we're up against Johnny Oksa. Leif has a solo run to the final.
